David S. Hunt, AICP
Principal
David Hunt brings 17 years of professional experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors to Green Line Consulting. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received both a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and a Master of City Planning degree, he has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners since 1995.
Mr. Hunt has conducted access management analyses of large scale civic developments including major league stadium projects in Pittsburgh, Miami, and Louisville, as well as assisting in the planning of infrastructure associated with downtown and riverfront redevelopment efforts in Wilmington, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Tempe, Arizona. He has led sector-specific business attraction teams serving economic development in the Greater Philadelphia area, and has co-authored economic revitalization plans throughout the mid-Atlantic. He helped develop funding strategies to attract Federal funding in Wilmington, Louisville, Kentucky, and in several communities in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Mr. Hunt helped develop public outreach strategies associated with both public infrastructure and private land use development, training more than 1000 Pennsylvania Department of Transportation engineers, Main Street managers, private developers, and non-profit professionals in the principles of context sensitive solutions and flexible design. Working with the Pennsylvania Downtown Center, he developed the principles “Balanced Circulation,” relating economic development objectives to infrastructure design and intergovernmental relations. The resulting paper was presented at several national and regional professional meetings. He assisted in the development of public outreach strategies associated with major public works projects in Portland, Oregon and Indianapolis, Indiana. He also assisted Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania in coordinating Main Street revitalization efforts with regional corridor improvements undertaken by the state.
Mr. Hunt’s experience extends to campus and greenway development as well. He participated in campus planning efforts at the University of Kentucky, University of South Florida, Lehigh University, the University of Pennsylvania, Southeastern Louisiana University, Pennsylvania State University and the YMCA retreat center in Silver Bay, New York. He was instrumental in the development of the East Coast Greenway throughout the state of Delaware, and continues to serve as a participant in ECG planning and development efforts.
Mr. Hunt’s work in operational and management solutions includes analyses of transit development in Chicago, Illinois, and the development of operational strategies in Silver Spring, Maryland, Columbus, Ohio, and Philadelphia. He developed and conducted traffic mitigation agreement audits in New Castle County and developed shared use strategies for several college campuses. He has managed downtown housing demand studies in Wilmington, and participated the strategic marketing efforts in Wilmington and other Main Street communities.
Mr. Hunt is the Vice Chair of the Wilmington Parking Authority and has served on several regional and local community and planning organizations. |
